__________________________________________________________________
Eric first came to our studio in July of 1999 with his friend, and band mate Jeff Washer. He came into our lives as a customer but quickly became a friend. Throughout the almost three years that we have been fortunate to know him, he has helped us in many ways. From building a storage room, drum riser, putting up shelves, running our studio when we had to be away, and helping us with our annual showcase.
We in turn have been there for Eric when he needed us. Whether it involved helping him find musicians to play with, or just someone to talk to and hang out with. We can't begin to count the many conversations that we shared with him, both here, and on the phone. Even with our last conversation on Saturday May 18, 2002, we talked about the things that we cared about a lot, such as music, and women that had been in our lives.
Those of you who had the pleasure of meeting or knowing Eric saw a friendly, honest, caring, outspoken, hard-working, and loving person. He was talented in many ways, and wouldn't hesitate to help anyone at any time. It will be hard to pick up the phone without hearing his voice on the other end asking "How's your hammer hangin'?", seeing his white truck pull up in the parking lot, hearing those Yamaha drums blasting out Dream Theater or Rush in Studio A, and the hours of talking about music, women, and cracking jokes. He will be sorely missed by his family, and friends... and will forever live in our hearts.
With our deepest sympathy,
Daren and David Short
